Advisory Council
The Advisory Council provides guidance in making the School of the Coast & Environment at LSU a responsive and effective partner with governmental agencies and the private sector as SC&E fulfills its mission: to provide knowledge, technology, and human resources for successful management of natural resources and resolution of environmental issues important to Louisiana, the Gulf of Mexico region, and comparable areas around the nation and the world.
The SC&E Advisory Council is comprised of leaders from industry, government, and science and provides extramural perspectives on program development in SC&E to LSU administrators. It assists in determining what knowledge, technology, and human resources are necessary and what natural resource and environmental issues are important. The Advisory Council facilitates cooperation and between SC&E and governmental agencies and the private sector in teaching, research, and service programs. The Advisory Council plays a leadership role in fundraising to make a significant impact on the quality of faculty excellence and the student experience at SC&E.
