SC&E Funding Entities

 

SC&E provides office space and administrative assistance for the Coastal Marine Institute and CREST.

The Coastal Marine Institute (CMI)—The Coastal Marine Institute at Louisiana State University was formed under a cooperative agreement between the University and the Minerals Management Service of the United States Department of the Interior. The CMI program at LSU is coordinated through the Environmental Studies Program at the Gulf of Mexico Regional Office of MMS.

CREST—Coastal Restoration & Enhancement through Science & Technology SC&E hosts the office of CREST, a NOAA–funded, multi–institutional program dedicated to helping restore coastal habitats in Louisiana and Mississippi. CREST is administratively located in SC&E at LSU, but all of the consortium members cooperate in the operation of CREST and in supporting its continued recognition and federal funding. Besides LSU, CREST members include the University of New Orleans, Nicholls State University, Southeastern Louisiana University, LSU Agricultural Center, LUMCON, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, McNeese State University, SUNO, Tulane, and the University of Southern Mississippi.
