Coastal Environmental Science Home

A BS in Coastal Environmental Science is offered in the School of the Coast and Environment (SC&E) at Louisiana State University. This undergraduate curriculum is an interdisciplinary, collaborative effort between the two departments housed in the School, the Department of Environmental Sciences and the Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences. Students are encouraged to browse our web site and see the exciting courses we offer and the many opportunities for research experience at LSU and beyond.

Highlighting Our Graduates

Meet Nita Clark, LSU Alumna
Nita was LSU’s first Morris K. Udall Scholar and

part of the LA-STEM program at LSU.

She performed a Louisiana Sea Grant Undergraduate Research Project investigating metal contamination in Campus Lake in 2007.

She participated in summer enrichment and research programs at Rice University, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Univ. Colorado-Boulder

Meet Brandon Boyd, LSU Alumnus

Brandon graduated in 2010 and is now a graduate student at Oregon State University. Brandon was a Ronald McNair Fall 2009 Scholar, received honor- able mention for the Barry M. Goldwater Scholar- ship, and was named one of 20 students selected at LSU for the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Brandon plans on being a university professor and researcher when he graduates from Oregon State University.
